Acceptance, Pre-Screening and Preparation

CY staff reviews applications three months in advance of a trip. Accepted participants are selected and screened for the trip. The CY team carefully assembles project teams that are varied in background and skills in order to encourage a more vibrant and diverse experience.

Prior to the trip, a CY advisor will conduct an assessment with each participant over the phone, to determine his or her skills and interests in order to set up meetings and experiences tailored for that individual in Mozambique. Each participant will also experience a 1 hour session with a certified life coach, who will discuss in greater depth the participant’s current stage in life, desires, and goals for the trip.
